This coin weight dates from the 1714 standard.

The legends read :

THE STANDARD OF IRELAND

ANNO XIII ANNAE REGINA ( The 13th year of Queen Anne ).

The weight is for 8 pennyweights and 16 grains (8Dwt : 16 Gr or just D8 G16)

This weight correspondes to the weight of a Spanish double pistole.

This example is in relatively better condition than is usually seen, the obverse is quite strong and clean, the reverse is a bit weaker and has some areas of light corrosion (mostly within the shield) but nicer examples are not particularly scarce.
